Sia returns with the euphoric – yet underwhelming – Shakira intended track, “Move You Body.”
If you’re not up-to-date with Sia business, her current album, This Is Acting, a record that consists of songs that were written for other artists from Rihanna to Adele.
By the time you finish the first chorus it’s obvious that this was intended for Shakira, the EDM breakdown is extremely similar to World Cup anthem, “Dare (La La La).” Not only that, but Sia has a twang to her voice throughout the song, like she’s trying to imitate the Colombian megastar.
The track is made for the clubs with it’s gargantuan breakdown that could bring the whole club to their feet, but it just isn’t different to every other EDM song out there to make it special.
Sure, the track is a natural follow on from the upbeat “Cheap Thrills,” but doesn’t contain the spark that the said single possessed.
Is this track a bad song? No, it’s perfectly fine, and its placement on This Is Acting is perfect and stops the album becoming a ballad fest, but it just doesn’t have the power to run as an alone single.
