Stargate – “Waterfall” ft. P!nk & Sia | Review

Stargate’s debut single, “Waterfall” falls short of the mark, even with the help of P1nk and Sia.

For a production duo that have released a plethora of number one hits on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s strange that their first single doesn’t quite pack a punch.

Let’s get one thing straight, P!nk and Sia sound great – and how good is it to hear P!nks voice again?!

The problem with this song is its lacklustre chorus.

The verses race with a thumping beat and strong vocals from the pair, but then the chorus hits – well, it doesn’t really hit, more limps in.

A dancehall-esque chorus without a big beat to carry it, Sia and P!nk both sound bored. After the pre-chorus where the powerhouse vocalist turn it up a notch to then go, to well, that is just disappointing.

That being said, the verses are pretty great. They’re not ground-breaking, but they’re perfectly enjoyable.

Also, the cover art for the single is shoddy and looks like it was made by a 12-year-old.
