Astrid S – “Breathe” | Review

Astrid S has made a full on synth banger with the magical “Breathe.”

It should come as no surprise that Astrid is Norwegian-born because it seems as though everyone from Eastern Europe is able to make an amazing pop song.

“Breathe” is an upbeat synth-heavy pop song that relies on the same reoccurring beat as it’s backbone, and while it’s simple, the echoes and atmosphere that surround it make the song otherworldly.

Her slightly pitchy vocals fit the songs tone perfectly as well as compliment the deeper sound of the production. They also seem to represent the alien-esque single cover, coincidence? Who knows, but they work!

Lyrically, the song discusses the feeling of extasy when she’s with a particular person.

“Did you slip me a magic pill?/Got me lifted like an astronaut/No helmet on and my lungs just stop”
