Rationale – “Deliverance” | Review

Rationale delivers a song beyond his years on his latest track, “Deliverance.”

At 32, Rationale – real name Tinashe – isn’t exactly a spring chicken, he’s released singles and an album under the name of Tinashé and written for Rag’n’Bone Man.

Here on “Deliverance,” Rationale sounds confident and mature over the understated electronic beat. His voice is powerful and full of emotion which truly delivers the hurt in the lyrics, which discuss the feeling of needing the person you’ve broken up from.

“Throw me a rope/Oh, Marion, cause I can’t cope in this hole without you/You sold me a dream, now I’m hanging on/From my life/Out of sight, out of mind”

Rationale really emotes on this track, if you don’t get a lump in your throat while listening to this song you must not have a heart!

The production here really doesn’t play much of a part, other than helping the vocal soar even further than they already do.

Such a stellar track! Maybe the small hiatus was needed back in 2014 to find the artist he truly is – I mean 28 million streams isn’t half bad, is it?
