Song Of The Week: Becky Hill – “Rude Love” | Review

Becky Hill manages to capture the anger involved in a breakup with her new single, “Rude Love.”

Hill is an amazing pop star, isn’t she? After being catapulted into the limelight on The Voice UK, Hill has released great pop after great pop – the vocals on “Gekko” though?!

Here, on “Rude Love,” Hill throws all the punches! Her vocal sounds scorned and bitter, along with the harsh beat and the scathingly honest lyrics, it makes for the ultimate breakup track!

The breakdown of the song could have easily been it’s downfall, but luckily for both Hill and us, it makes it! The harshness and chaos of it perfectly fits the madness that goes on in our heads during a breakup – yo can literally imagine listening to this track while trashing your flat in anger.

Lyrically, the track is brutally honest.

“Every time I call you on the phone, you’re with your new girl/What’s the deal with that?/What about me and what I want?/Can’t take it, I need your affection.”

She has totally captured the feeling of a breakup through the production and the lyrics, well done you brilliant pop star – who said The Voice doesn’t produce stars?!
