Kiiara – “Whippin” ft. Felix Snow | Review

Kiiara and Felix Snow bring some light trap-house vibes on their new collab, “Whippin.”

Kiiara is best known for her 2015 hit, “Gold,” where she introduced the world to her ‘downcast electronic-pop’ that brings in influences from other genres. Felix Snow, on the other hand, has been popping up everywhere, lending her vocals to all genres.

“Whippin” starts out like a classic dance track that you’ve heard a million times – I won’t lie, I judged the track by the first few seconds – but once the vocals start, you learn that this is more than just ‘another track’.

Kiiara’s vocals draw you in, it’s pitch sticks above the production and contrast perfectly against Snow’s slightly deeper voice.

To be honest, the pair sound great together, and both their voices suit the production well.

The track isn’t the most original, however, recently there have been a lot of retro sounding and slightly darker tracks released – it sticks out for all the right reasons.
