Allie X – “Paper Love” | Review

One this generation’s most underrated artists, Allie X, has gone and released another amazing track, in the form of “Paper Love.”

Allie X has released pop banger after pop banger, all with her own signature, kinda weird style. Her voice is Melanie Martinez-esque and her production seems to come straight from an art gallery.

“Paper Love” is toned down compared to her previous efforts, but it still packs a pretty powerful punch.

Lyrically, there a are loads of references to paper – obviously – but the most interesting aspect of this song is the Japanese like tones that lie in the background of the pre-chorus. You may be thinking “why is that interesting?” Well, origami is Japanese and this song is linked to paper, get it?

Whether that addition was intentional or not, it’s rather brilliant.

Hopefully, this is the song to lift Allie X from blog favourite to chart favourite!
