Alison Moyet – “Reassuring Pinches” | Review

Alison Moyet is just fabulous, isn’t she?

The British singer-songwriter has sales and charts records that should make her a household name, along with the likes of Debbie Harry and Cyndi Lauper.

According to Wikipedia; “her UK album sales have reached a certified 23 million, with over a million singles sold. All seven of her studio albums and three compilation albums have charted in the Top 30 UK Album Chart, with two of the albums reaching number one. She has also achieved nine Top 30 singles and five Top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart” – impressive!

Her new single, “Reassuring Pinches,” from new album, Other out June 16, sounds current yet completely different to anything else out now.

Her signature contralto vocal is recognisable from the first note and continues to encompass you throughout the rest of the track.

The production of this track is hauntingly theatric, and the heavy synth-pop elements that especially come to life on the chorus, sound perfect together.

Moyet is doing exactly what some of her contemporaries should – *cough* Madonna *cough* – sounding current, yet not chasing themes and trying to fit in.

Check out her new single below and let us know what you think in the comments!
