Song Of The Week: Hanne Hukkelberg – “The Whip” | Reviews

Hanne Hukkelberg one of the most electric and intriguing songs of the year with “The Whip.”

Noweigen singer, Hukkelberg isn’t new to the scene, in fact, her debut album, “Little Things,” released way back in 2004 got critics talking about her originality then – sounds like nothing’s changed!!

“The Whip” could easily be a mess, with all the sounds stuffed into the 3:40 minutes it takes spectacular production to order and layer them to sound great – and they’ve managed it!

It’s so totally weird and miles left of centre, but it’s amazing and it draws you in from the first big beat drop.

Hukkelberg’s vocals are unique and through technical ability and studio trickery work alongside the production to create a mysterious, almost otherworldly vibe.

People may not get this song because it is so different, but what makes a Song Of The Week in our eyes is something that’s different to everything else released – obviously, it still has to be good – and this track is just that!

Welcome back Hanne Hukkelberg!
