A little less Nick Jonas and a little more Anne-Marie would be nice!
After a less than stellar second album, the gorgeous Jonas is back with the lead single for his upcoming fourth album, “Remember I Told You,” with a little help from fellow American, Mike Posner and British singer-songwriter, Anne-Marie.
The track, on first listen, doesn’t blow you away, in fact, on my first listen I thought the song was really pointless and I didn’t really get it.
Well, thank god it’s free to replay a song!
The track is definitely an ear-worm with its pop-house beats and low-key r&b elements, it contains everything to make this a song of the summer contender, that is of course if it can fend of Carly Rae Jepsen.
Jonas goes for a more spoken delivery on the verses, before bringing his falsetto and pitchy vocals for the chorus.
Although, this song really takes off when Anne-Marrie takes charge. Her verse may be short, but her beautifully soft vocals grace the production and they sound great together.
Posner’s addition is unneeded, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. His talk/rap/singing fits the vibes that the track gives off – so kudos to the producers for making Posner relevant here.
Basically, just like on “Rockabye,” a little more Anne-Marie always means great music!
